Marquis Software Breach Exposes 400,000 Bank Customers
Marquis Software Solutions, a Texas‑based provider of marketing and compliance technology for financial institutions, has confirmed a ransomware attack that compromised sensitive customer data from dozens of its bank and credit union clients.
The company filed breach notifications with multiple U.S. states, revealing that hackers accessed its systems in August through a SonicWall firewall vulnerability. The stolen information includes names, dates of birth, mailing addresses, Social Security numbers, and financial details such as bank account, debit, and credit card numbers. At least 400,000 individuals were affected.
Law enforcement has been notified, and Marquis says it is working with its business customers to ensure consumer alerts are issued. According to its website, the firm serves more than 700 banks and credit unions nationwide, offering both digital and physical marketing products alongside compliance software and services.
