LexisNexis Launches ‘Know Your Agent’ (KYA) Intelligence to Tackle AI Agent Fraud
LexisNexis Risk Solutions has expanded its global risk platform to evaluate and manage autonomous AI agents operating on behalf of consumers and businesses, introducing dedicated Know Your Agent (KYA) intelligence to address the rapid rise of agentic activity across digital channels.
Building on decades of experience analyzing identity, device telemetry, network patterns, and transaction data, the company is embedding agent risk assessment directly into established fraud decisioning engines. Rather than treating AI agents as an isolated threat, KYA intelligence allows organizations to incorporate agent interactions into existing workflows, with several global institutions already using the framework in live environments.
The initiative follows exponential growth in automated digital actors. Analysis from LexisNexis Risk Solutions reveals that agentic traffic surged more than 750% in the first half of 2026, with transaction volumes doubling again in recent months as personal agents automate everyday tasks such as retail shopping. As agentic commerce shifts rapidly into mainstream adoption, organizations face growing pressure to distinguish automated delegates from human users.
Because most personal agents do not self-declare, initial detection is only the starting point. Security and risk teams must resolve critical governance questions: confirming which individual or entity the agent represents, verifying whether a specific action is authorized, and ensuring the interaction remains legitimate as control shifts between humans and automated tools during a user session.
Autonomous agents also amplify the potential scale and sophistication of fraud, including complex account takeover schemes and authorized push payment scams. Because malicious bots can continuously optimize tactics based on system feedback, LexisNexis Risk Solutions evaluates agentic activity alongside behavioral patterns, device history, and network signals, enabling enterprises to allow, challenge, review, or block transactions in real time.
The capability leverages the LexisNexis Digital Identity Network, which monitored over 116 billion digital transactions and flagged 4.9 billion bot attacks in 2025. Company leadership highlighted that the platform allows businesses to safely adopt agentic commerce by establishing contextual trust rather than enforcing rigid, one-size-fits-all restrictions across evolving digital ecosystems.
